Prof Shuchi has a vision to instill in her students with passion for becoming collaborators in the exploration of theory, research, and practice in their chosen fields. She works to bring accuracy in conferring information, defining requirements, and asserting academic objectives. She aspires to make them witness and experience new thoughts and learnings, to inculcate ardor to think and perceive at a higher level. 

In her own words, “I endeavour to elucidate, both in my curriculum and in what I communicate, that I have immense hopes for my students. I require them to comprehend and become proficient in the subject so that they do well in not just assessments but form a habit of regular practice. I hold myself to the same standards that I hold my students. That is, I strive to become a skilled thinker and learner, and I believe that this process is life-long. I believe that the learning process should be enjoyable and exciting”.

Innovation used in the classroom

Students’ learning progression is an amalgamation of various strategies established over time with considerable deliberations and deductions. Prof Shuchi has integrated three key elements in her teaching delivery mechanism which include: active and collaborative learning, practice and feedback, and experiential learning experiences. The workshop mode supports the learning outcomes that are targeted to be achieved and is backed by assignments of self-reflection. Experiential activities and games are used as a tools to make the theoretical aspect of the courses come to life and impact the learning of the student. Courses like Human Behaviour in Organizations, Emotional Intelligence, and Managerial Skills help students be reflective and engage better, Standardized inventories and personality measurement and assessment tools are used for higher accuracy and experience. In the area of HR, it is important to bring out the element of application in every function for business outcomes. Case analysis, role plays, scenario discussions, management games, and exercises help in maximizing learning. 

Benefit of that for students

It is of paramount importance that students are aware of academic objectives for their learning. Students are expected to make impactful learning journeys and understand what they can achieve through education. The focus remains to nurture students and inspire them to contribute to society for a sustainable future. Strength in domain knowledge, application of theories to solve real-world problems, and the zeal to keep learning is the expected outcome.
